OUR MISSION.

Good Times with Skate Friends is a Bakersfield based nonprofit dedicated to putting skateboards in the hands of kids who need them most. We believe skateboarding builds confidence, community, and character and that every young person deserves the chance to be part of this culture, regardless of their situation.

WHAT WE DO.

  • SKATEBOARD GIVEAWAYS.

    We give away free complete skateboards directly to Kern County youth. No cost, no catch, just community love.

  • YMCA SKATE CAMP SCHOLORSHIPS.

    We send Kern County kids to skate camp in the Sequoia mountains, fully covered so no young skater misses out.

  • COMMUNITY SKATE EVENTS.

    We bring the Bakersfield skate community together with pop up skate session, giveaway days, and local events featuring celebrity and pro skaters, open to all ages and skill level. No matter where you are on your skate journey, there is always a place for you here.

  • WORKSHOPS.

    Our workforce workshops prepare young people for real careers by connecting them to the trades and skills that keep the skate industry running, including carpentry, ramp building, metal fabrication, photography, video production, graphic design, and screen printing. We believe every kids in our community deserves a path forward, and skateboarding is the door that opens it.
