Eddie Hernandez : Founder & President
Eddie Hernandez is a lifelong Kern County local, skateboarder, and community advocate. Growing up in Bakersfield’s skate scene, Eddie experienced firsthand how skateboarding can bring people together and create lifelong friendships. As founder and president of Good Times With Skate Friends, he leads the organization’s vision, community outreach, and partnerships with local businesses and supporters. His passion is rooted in giving back to the same community that shaped him and creating opportunities for young skaters to thrive.
Joey Ruiz – Secretary / Art Director & Events Coordinator
Joey Ruiz is a creative force behind the organization’s artistic vision and community events. A Bakersfield native deeply connected to local culture and skateboarding, Joey brings art, design, and storytelling into the programs and events we host. From organizing skate jams to collaborating with artists and musicians, Joey helps create the visual identity and cultural energy that makes our events welcoming and inspiring for the community.
Adam Montoya – Programs & Grants Director
Adam Montoya plays a key role in developing programs and securing opportunities that help the organization grow and serve more youth. With experience in nonprofit work, education, and program development, Adam focuses on building sustainable initiatives that support skateboarding, creativity, and mentorship. As a Kern County local, he shares the same passion for investing back into the community and helping young people discover confidence through skate culture.
