SKATE IT FORWARD
is a community driven program created by Good Times With Skate Friends to get skateboards into the hands of kids who need them most.
This isn’t a new idea for us , it’s something we’ve been doing for years through events, giveaways, and showing up for the next generation. Now we’re building it into something bigger, more organized, and able to reach even more kids across Kern County.
Our goal is simple:
Build 25–30 complete skateboards and give them out by Go Skate Day 2026.
How It Works
We collect lightly used and new skate gear decks, trucks, wheels, bearings, grip, hardware and turn them into complete setups ready to ride.
Every board we build goes directly to a kid in the community.
No resale. No flipping. Just putting skateboards where they belong.
How You Can Help
Donate Gear
Drop off:
• Decks (new or lightly used)
• Trucks, wheels, bearings
• Hardware, grip tape, tools
Drop-off Locations:
• Nano’s Barbershop
• Impact (local shop partner)
Purchase to Donate
Don’t have extra gear? You can still help build a board.
• Buy parts in-store at Nano’s Barbershop
• Purchase gear at Impact and donate it directly
We’ll take care of building the completes and getting them to the kids.
Support the Mission
We’re currently in the process of transitioning our nonprofit and setting up updated systems to accept monetary donations.
In the meantime, gear donations and in-store purchases are the fastest way to make an impact.
Who Gets the Boards?
We work directly with:
• Local families
• Community programs
• Schools and youth groups
We focus on kids who:
• Don’t have access to a board
• Show interest in skating
• Could benefit from positive outlets and community
Why It Matters?
Skateboarding gave us:
• Confidence
• Creativity
• A sense of belonging
We’re here to pass that on.
This program is about more than skateboards it’s about giving kids something to be a part of.
